If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us…
(Daniel 3:17-18, NLT)
Have you ever heard that when it rains, it pours? Meaning, there are moments that we experience in life where issues and circumstances are like dominoes, one agitates another one and pretty soon all around you if seems as if your world is consumed with trying to stay above it all.   How can we stand firm in our faith to God during challenges? What keeps you going?

The book of Daniel is filled with various accounts of being in challenging situations while serving the Lord. I mean, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego getting thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing to bow before a statue of King Nebuchadnezzar is nothing to balk at. Refusing to compromise our faith walk and continuing to honor and serve God while we are in the fiery pits of life is something we should strive to become stronger in. We have to trust God to see us through, to protect us and rescue us from out of harm’s way. Because of their faith, the men were protected by an angelic being (Daniel 3:5) described like the “Son of God”. In another example,  Daniel ends up in a den of lions because of a trap set up for his downfall and he still refuses to compromise or conceal his faith even with the threat of torture or death. Because of Daniels faith and obedience to serving God, He is delivered out of the den and protected from harm.

What stands out to me in this scripture is that “God is able.” Beyond anything else He is able to do what He has promised. He is able to deliver you from the hands of your enemies. He is able to save you when you feel like all hope is lost. He can rescue you from those fiery pit moments when all around you is nothing but calamities. When you are not afraid to stand alone and continue to have a firm purpose for following God’s will and stay faithful, He will deliver you. When you are standing in the middle of the lions dens, you can trust God to be your lifeline. Dare to stand on His word. Dare to believe in His principles so that you can be blessed by His deliverance regardless of what appears to be a threat. Keep believing and standing. He is able.~LPG

Let’s Pray: Father God, I rely on your voice to see me through these challenges I face. You are able to quench the threatening flames building up all around me and deliverance is in your hands. You are my Shepherd and I hear your voice and place my faith in your ability and not my own. Above anything else, I am standing on your word in faith. In Jesus Name, Amen.
